  • From here we're supposed to go over Donohue Pass, but plans change...
  • Surprisingly, Ben had cell reception, so we could see the big red blob headed for us. We barely had time to set up the tent rainfly and get everyone and gear inside. This is during the second wave of the storm which decided to park itself right over our tent.
  • Three hours and about 8 inches later, the ground is no longer green.
  • No postholing happening here! By the next morning all the hail had turned into a sheet of ice.
  • The tiny trickle coming down the side of the mountain turned into a river.
